Hello and welcome to Intuitive Living, a new online space to share all things yoga, health, and wellness!!
This is my first post and already I have writer’s block wondering, where do I start? I guess I’ll start at the beginning of this year in January when I was teaching yoga at a local yoga studio and a community center and super excited to begin training as a Holistic Nutritionist. And then life changed quickly and drastically for myself and everyone around me, everyone in the world. When the area that I live in went into quarantine if forced me to rethink my own yoga practice and how I would stay connected with my students and the community that had been a part of my daily life for many years. “These are challenging and unprecedented times” are words we keep hearing over and over again. We are not all the way through the storm, but we’ve come far enough to look back with some hindsight. When I look back I see three things that motivated me to bring my health and wellness offerings online: an overwhelming number of Americans struggling with chronic diseases like obesity and Type 2 diabetes that can be managed and in many cases prevented with healthy nutrition and exercise, a brighter light being shown on the health disparities and inequities between different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups, and new opportunities to support, connect and build communities in online spaces. I’m excited to have this new platform that will enable me to share access to yoga classes, nutrition coaching and healthy lifestyle tips all in one place.
